    John Smith (1618-1652) was an English philosopher, theologian, and educator. He was a fellow of Queens' College, Cambridge and a founder of the Cambridge Platonist. He  developed a Christian philosophy that was deeply rational and open to the new science yet directed to the practical goal of living a religious life.
